Aem cold air
|
|

|
|
AEM Cold Air System - Similar to the ICEMAN set up, the AEM engineered cold air system
is also designed to take advantage of the coldest air available to the
engine. The TurboFlo® air filtration system fits right behind the front
air dam and then an aluminum duct directs the cold fresh air to the
throttle body. Unlike the ICEMAN, the AEM is a 1 piece unit that does not
allow you the flexibility of mounting the filter within the engine bay. It's aluminum construction also tends to retain a lot
more heat than the plastic ICEMAN unit.

Dunlop Sp Sport 9000
|
|

|
|
The SP Sport
9000 is Dunlop's
Max Performance tire thanks to its "HydroMax" hydroplaning
resistance capabilities in standing water. It is designed for the drivers
of sports cars, coupes and sedans to provide performance and comfort in
the dry, along with superior hydroplaning resistance in the wet. The SP
Sport 9000 is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures,
through snow or on ice.
On the outside, the SP Sport
9000 tire features a high silica content tread compound molded into a design
that features substantial open grooves (44% groove - 56% rubber) in the
center of the design to minimize hydroplaning, and directional high
contact shoulder grooves (85% rubber - 15% groove) to enhance steering
response and dry road cornering. On the inside, Jointless
Bands (JLB) of nylon provide high speed
capability while helping improve ride comfort and handling. The SP Sport
9000 construction provides light weight structural integrity,
splice free reinforcement uniformity, and an even distribution of
footprint pressure.

Vida Guerra
|
|
|
|
Vida Guerra probably has
never imagined that she would be famous as a swimsuit model who is noticed for her large derriere. It is likely
because she often encountered problems dealing with this particular part of
body in her early age as she recalled, "I used to get teased all the
time in grade school because I was this really skinny girl, but my butt was
huge. I would always be in the principal's office because someone had
grabbed my butt and made me cry." She may have thought her bottom was
such an annoyance at that time, yet it has become a characteristic which
has led her to reach fame and popularity to this day.
Born on January 8, 1980, in Havana,
Cuba, Vida along with
her family soon moved to Perth
Amboy, New Jersey,
at the age of 6. Realizing her potentiality, she joined a fashion show in
her hometown when she was 18 years old, then appeared in Big Pun's video
entitled "New York to New Orleans."
She continued developing her career as a loan officer, but could not elude
herself from modeling since she always looked for any opportunities to be
involved in the field. While she was browsing the website of FHM Magazine,
Vida's close friend supported her to send some photographs of herself there. She afterwards posted them to a section
of the magazine called "Honey Next Door."
The pictures of Vida eventually appeared in December 2002 edition of FHM
and gained a huge response from readers who demanded more photos of her.
Shortly thereafter, the magazine asked her to properly pose for them. Her
next pictures were featured in the March and May 2003 issues, directing
Vida to embrace popularity as public begun to mark her for the large
derriere she possesses. She became more successful, dancing in Dave
Chappell’s Show on Comedy Central as well as participating in the music
video of P. Diddy, Nelly and Murphy Lee's "Shake Ya Tailfeather"
which turned out to be a rap hit in the summer of 2003. She also showed up
in ESPN2's "Cold Pizza," a short comedy film namely
"Writer's Block," Kanye West's video of his "Workout
Plan", and Cassidy's
"Get No Better."
Vida's status as a conspicuous model was proclaimed as
she's been granted FHM's "Rear of the Year" award at the end of
2003 and being established as FHM Model of the Year in the following year.
She kept making sensation through her love relationship with Jeremy
Shockey, a notable rugby player of New York Giants, which unfortunately did
not last long. In January 2004, she moved to a new management company, F/C
Management,
stabilizing herself as a model as well as striving
to develop another career as an actress.

Ford Mustang

With all
due respect to the Ford Mustangs developed and sold by Ford Special Vehicle
Engineering and the Special Vehicle Team between 1993 and 2004, Cobras are two-seat
roadsters built by Shelby American during the 1960s. Anything else is
something else--no matter how promiscuous Ford was with that hallowed badge
over the last three decades.
This is
the reason the highly sought Mustangs sold from 1965 through 1970 that bear
Shelby's
name never were called Cobras, even though that trademark snake logo
appeared all over them. And this is the same mindset that underpins the
naming--and development--of the first new, legit Shelby Mustang in 35
years. You'll find snake (and SVT) logos all over this one, too--but,
officially, it's the Ford Shelby GT 500. No misapplied Cobra branding in
sight.
As you read
this, the ripped-yet-sophisticated Mustang on these pages will have just
made its debut at the New York
auto show. It's the work of SVT's design and
engineering teams, with an inspiration infusion courtesy of Carroll Shelby.
Functionally, if not in name, it is the next-generation SVT Cobra. Unlike
many concepts, it's no fantasy turntable toy, no "we might consider
building it if the demand is high enough" tease. Ford brass already
has pressed the go button: The next Shelby GT 500 is on its way, coming to
market some time in calendar year 2006 as a 2007 model. This New York show design
study is 95 percent product correct--meaning what you see is (mostly) what
we'll get.
Hau Tai-Tang, the 2005 Mustang's chief program engineer,
was handed the reins at SVT last fall: "Most people speculated that we
would follow a 200-horsepower V-6 car and a 300-horsepower V-8 GT with a
400-horsepower SVT version, but I can tell you the GT 500 is going to have
at least 450." He delivers this message quietly and with utter
confidence--which means more is possible, indeed likely.
Contrary
to early reports, including ours, the born-again Shelby won't make use of a de-powered
version of the exotic Ford GT power plant. The GT's
expensive 550-horsepower, 5.4-liter V-8 uses an aluminum block and has
dry-sump oiling and a screw-type supercharger. Instead, the Shelby-spec
engine is an evolution of the outgoing SVT Cobra's 390-horsepower, iron
block, aluminum head, four valve, Roots-blown 4.6,
with a critical difference: It's finally received the displacement
increase--to 5.4 liters--everyone's been begging for.
Tai-Tang isn't
yet ready to talk torque, but expect it to rise substantially over the
outgoing Cobra's 390-pound-feet rating, another happy byproduct of more
cubes. The only transmission mentioned at this time is a Tremec T-56
six-speed manual.
SVT-engineered
rides have always included handling/ride/braking upgrades balanced to their
newfound power levels. "The GT 500 gets unique suspension tuning,
springs, anti-roll bars, bushings, shock valving,
and a 12-to-15mm ride-height reduction," says Tai-Tang. "Visceral
feedback from all driver inputs will be greatly increased; differentiated
from the GT, yet well harmonized." The show car wears elegantly
finished brushed-aluminum 19-inch wheels that ape the Ford GT's design. The production version likely will have
18-inchers with the same look. A clay model we inspected sat on 255/45ZR18
tires, but rolling-stock choices are still being finalized. The 19s may be
offered as an option, and at least one additional wheel design, a modern
take on a 1960s Shelby
alloy, also is under consideration.
Many assumed
that a peek beneath the GT 500 would reveal an independent rear suspension,
as with the 1999-2004 Cobra. Nope.
"Sure, we
could've done it," notes Tai-Tang, anticipating this question.
"We looked at the marginal handling improvement attainable by going to
an IRS, and we didn't feel the gain justified the cost. The incremental
benefit of an IRS is refinement, but not much more in terms of all-out
performance. We've got good geometry and good shock-motion ratios, and
we're happy with the suspension we have. We won't hesitate to have you do a
driving comparison against IRS-suspended competitors." Weight goes up
a little--ballpark, a couple hundred pounds--but it's going to gain
horsepower, so the weight-to-power ratio will improve a bunch.

Ferrari Enzo
|
|

|
|
After more than a year of rumors, false names and spy photos,
the Ferrari Enzo finally made its debut at the
2002 Paris Motor Show. Named in honor of the Italian auto maker’s founder,
the Enzo is the latest special edition supercar to come out of Maranello.
Past limited-run Ferraris have included the GTO, the F40 and most recently
the F50 which celebrated the automaker’s 50th anniversary. While the
initial plan was to build only 349 examples of the Enzo,
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo
announced that 50 additional Enzos would be built
for a total of 399. Pricing has not been announced, but it doesn’t really
matter – the entire run has already sold out.
